Wilfrid Jury Schoolage Program
Located in North-West London, our Wilfrid Jury Schoolage Program is located in the Wilfrid Jury Public School, an elementary school of the Thames Valley District School Board, home of “The Wolves.” This urban location provides before and after school programs for children 3.8 – 12 years as well as a child care centre for children from 18 months – 5 years, full and part time.
We work very closely with the school’s staff and administration and we partner to support the needs of the children, families and the community we share. This school is a hub for the community and a wealth of programs are offered for children and families in the building. One of our supervisors is an active participant on the school’s Parent Council which brings another important connection between child care, school and community.
Our indoor and outdoor environments invite school age children to safely learn through play and exploration, build on their strengths and develop and nurture friendships. Our educators provide a wealth of real, natural and play materials in our programs which engage the children’s creativity and support their interests. Our children and families of Wilfrid Jury bring a wonderful diversity of culture to our classrooms. Our educators provide lots of opportunities for healthy physical activity before and after a busy school day and healthy snacks are served.
At Wilfrid Jury Schoolage Program we provide full day programs for school age children during the summer, Christmas Break (except for Christmas Eve), March Break, Easter Monday and on all PA Days. Our full day programs give children opportunities to investigate their local and extended community, interact with visitors to the program as they share their skills and talents and make meaningful contributions to their community.
We provide inclusive environments that welcome families and invite them to participate as they feel comfortable. Ongoing communication between educators and families supports the well-being of the children and gives families a sense of belonging. Communication takes many forms in order to support the diverse needs of families. Storypark, a web-based interactive communication tool, gives educators and families the opportunity to share in the children’s learning & daily experiences and the Storypark app is used to provide timely information to families such as inclement weather closures.
